As a resident myself, I can tell you it truly never gets old. Come live your Caribbean beach fantasy in wonderful Ocean Park, San Juan.
Ocean Park is an exclusive gated residential beachfront community with a land area of 40 acres (0.16 sq km or 0.06 sq mi) located between Condado and Isla Verde beaches, making it an essential tranquil neighborhood full of quiet, tree-lined streets. Its wide ocean front and offshore reefs prevent large waves from reaching the beach, which is popular with trendy beachgoers. Strong seasonal onshore trade winds make the area popular for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Just a 7-10 minute walk to the top hospital and top two private schools in San Juan, Saint John’s and Robinson, it is the perfect place to raise your family. What’s more, you have the growing gastro-district of Calle Loiza just one block south of the 24-hour controlled access security tower that acts as home base for 24-hour security patrols within the gates of Ocean Park. Forever the jewel of San Juan, Ocean Park stands alone as the only neighborhood in San Juan where you may live in a house, on the beach, and in a gated, secure neighborhood.
The Baudizzone Lestard Arquitectos studio was formed in 1966 by Miguel Baudizzone, Jorge Erbin, Jorge Lestard and Alberto Varas. In 2002 the studio received the highly acclaimed Konex Prize for Visual Arts. The studio has been part of an important generation of modern architecture in Argentina. Along with other notables such as MSGSSS and Aftalión-Bischof- Egozcué-Vidal, this new groundbreaking group of Argentine architecture studios belonged to the first generation of modern architecture, functionalists and to the International Style whose pure geometric forms, rationalism and the universality of the designs began to generate acclaim for the lost identity that new architecture and its lack of flexibility and formal variety had been suffering from. Hand in hand with new international figures such as James Stirling, Louis Kahn and Robert Venturi, their new works sought to think about architecture in another way: exploiting form, program and materials in exciting new ways. Today, Baudizzone Lestard continues to push forward with their progressive designs with notable works such as The City Center Rosario – one of South America’s most prestigious casinos – and The Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.
